BRINTEX COLLECTIVE
Brintex Collective started out as a three-piece band of young musicians from Rotterdam, led by keyboardist Brenn Luiten. Brenn's project slowly grew into a creative collaboration. Now the band consists of 5 or sometimes even 6 musicians who each provide new colours to Brenn's compositions. Inspired by jazz, hip-hop and electronic music, the result is a fresh sound that immediately energises the audience.
Brenn himself calls their sound UK influenced Jazz music - acts like Alfa Mist and Robert Glasper are among their inspirations. New music is in the works, and their first single 'Anthem' released October 28th, which was followed by second single 'After Twelve' at the start of the year - part of an EP that's being released in Spring 2023. The song "Whistle" appeared this fall as part of a second
compilation album by Carista's label United Identities.

DISHWASHER_
Ever since their formation in 2019, the Ghent-based trio have been experimenting with all possible genres to create a contemporary sound they can now rightfully call their own. While labelling Diswasher_ as a jazzband wouldn’t do them enough justice, it is a fact that improvisation and a certain free approach turn out to be key in the creation and performance process of the album’s tracks. Werend, Louise and Arno specifically aim to capture their live energy and synergy on the album by experimenting with structures and textures, playing with song lengths and implementing influences from various other styles—electronic musicin the first place, but as well traces from (Middle-)Eastern and Balkan music, next to dance, hip-hop and even metal.

ANTARES FLARE
An international sextet based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Antares Flare is making music that is as grounded in earthy rhythms as it is in sonic journeying. Guitarist Piero Conte, the creative force behind this eclectic setup, is inspired by the entrancing sounds of the Congo rainforests but also the
electro-psychedelic atmospheres of Jimi Hendrix and Clever Austin. Taking cues from Jorge Luis Borges and the magical realist movement, he creates a sound that is rebellious and decidedly modern, interspersed with moments of profound clarity.
Since their inception in 2018 the band have played various festivals and clubs in the Netherlands and Italy, also being finalists of the 2021 Erasmus Jazz Prize Competition. Their eponymous debut album was recorded at Labrstract Studio in Rome and distributed on vinyl by Amsterdam-based label Wicked Wax in 2022.

BUNKER XL
A bombastic closing act for a festival, where you can feel the energy pouring through your veins, where the audience joins the band in shaking up the everything and everyone. From that feeling of adrenaline rush and experience with brass bands for large audiences, frontman Luuk came up with the idea of a new title for this genre of music: power brass. This style of music has the danceable core of funky rhythms, dance beats and rave atmospheres. With bright and powerful brass sounds, the music transforms into an energy, powerfull enough to lift up all those present.
With a shared passion for a dancing and sweating crowd, the five bashing stage performers have found each other musically in the band that embraces this style of music: BUNKER.

For this year's edition, the band will be even bigger, louder and more energetic, but keeping in tune with this year's edtion of Just Jazz, also more experimental en musically innovative. Can you wait to find out what BUNKER is cooking up now?
